Dave Mullen started his outdoor education as a young boy hunting and gathering in woodlands, and along creeks and rivers with his dad and grandpa. These early adventures have stayed with him throughout his life. He will share his experiences foraging for mushrooms and other outdoor lore.
“Hunting for mushrooms is a great reason to spend time in the woods,” Mullens says. He will tell us which mushrooms are safe to eat and which ones are not!
Dave was formally educated at Rock Valley College and Judson University. He spent thirty-five years working for the Forest Preserves of Winnebago County and has farmed with his wife for thirty-five years. He has a certification in Arboriculture.
